Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayanandaji’s visit (12-15 October 2007)

After a span of three years, the Chinmaya Mission of South Africa was blessed with the gracious presence of Pujya Guruji, Swami Tejomayanandaji, who arrived in the Durban ashram on 12th October for a 3-day visit. The visit was short, but extremely touching and memorable when Guruji told the Resident Acharya Swami Abhedananda that he had specially planned this trip only to spend personal time with all the members of South Africa Mission.

The mission centre had organized a public satsang wherein Guruji delivered an inspiring and thought provoking discourse on the topic “We Can, We must”. The satsang hall was packed with audience pouring from all over South Africa who were reveling in Guruji’s satsang after a long gap. Guruji’s satsang culminated with the release of a beautiful book called –“Swami Tejomayananda –Divinity Personified” which has been written by Swami Abhedananda and published by Chinmaya Mission South Africa. The book gives a concise yet deep insight into the divine and gracious personality of Pujya Guruji, his life and works.

Trustees and Executive Committee members of SA Mission specifically benefited from this visit, as Guruji indicated his vision of how an ashram should be run and developed. Guruji expressed great pleasure in the progress demonstrated by the mission centre in the past one year ever since the arrival of Swami Abhedananda. He was particularly pleased with the manner in which the Mission members had come together under Swami Abhedananda’s guidance to overcome a lot of the past challenges and re-established the firm foundation based on Gurudev’s vision and ideals. Guruji also expressed great joy seeing the major revamp and facelift of the ashram, owing to the several renovations in the recent months

Overall, Guruji’s trip was most fulfilling for all the devotees and Members, all of who were blessed and grateful to spend so much quality time in his divine presence.
