Inaugural Pooja - Chinmaya Annapoorna at Rajput Hall

6th February 2022 will be recorded as a milestone for all of us in Chinmaya Mission of South Africa. Invoking the divine grace & blessings of Pujya Gurudev and our Guru Parampara, and under the inspiring guidance of our centre in-charge Pujya Swami Abhedanandaji, Chinmaya Mission South Africa conducted the auspicious rituals and Pujas to mark the inauguration of CMSA’s new Subcentre – Chinmaya Annapoorna at Rajput Hall, Durban.

For over seven decades, the lamp of Knowledge lit by our Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda has been nourishing the minds and intellects of countless devotees world over. As the divine name implies “Chinmaya Annapoorna” shall soon blossom forth, to become a unique feather in the cap of Chinmaya Mission worldwide, with the primary purpose of feeding the hungry, needy and poor, with fresh and nutritious meals.

The rituals commenced with a special Havan to invoke the blessings of Lord Ganesh and Mother Annapoorna Devi. The puja was conducted by the Chinmaya Shivam Temple Priest in the presence of Swami Abhedanandaji, resident Brahmacharins, Trustees and members. On behalf of Chinmaya Mission South Africa, Mr. Pavan Maharaj (Trustee) expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to the members of the National Rajput Association for their generous offering of the Rajput Hall and to the president of the South African Hindu Maha Sabha Mr. Ashwin Trikamjee. To add to the blissful ambience of the morning, Shri Keeran Eshwarlall & group and Vijayluxmiji offered melodious Bhajans.

Devotees felt blessed to listen to the ever-inspiring words from Pujya Swami Abhedanandaji. In his enamouring style, Swamiji enlightened the listeners on the essence of living a life filled with seva and sacrifice and the great vision of CMSA to feed at least 500 to 1000 underprivileged people every day through the “Nourish to Flourish” project. Being the first of its kind in South Africa, this divine project is upheld by everyone in highest reverence and with immense gratefulness. Every day 108 times Hanuman Chalisa will be chanted in the temple to invoke divine blessings for this noble cause.

The functions concluded with prasad being served to everyone. Chinmaya Mission South Africa offers its deepest gratitude and appreciation to all those who made a contribution to this endeavour thus far, and look forward to the continued support from devotees worldwide, as we step forward towards inauguration of this project in the coming months.
